InCharge is an initiative by Vattenfall, a multinational power company owned by the Swedish state. Launched in 2016, the InCharge network provides access to EV charging points across Sweden, Germany, the UK and the Netherlands.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Until 2018, Vattenfall’s EV charging offering was branded under different names in Sweden, Germany and the Netherlands. With the addition of the UK market to their portfolio, Vattenfall decided to unite each market under the InCharge brand.

With one subscription, customers could now access charging stations in each country. With consistent messaging and English-language content on digital channels, InCharge could deliver a seamless experience for a customer who might drive from Sweden to Germany and on to the Netherlands.

Working with a small, agile team within Vattenfall, we built a new global website for InCharge. In order to unify the brand messaging, I collaborated with the product teams in each market to transcreate copy for the website and customer portal in English and the local language.

In the evolving EV charging market, the unified InCharge brand also strengthened the appeal and trust for Vattenfall’s B2B customers which include municipalities, real estate owners, and housing associations. In just a few weeks, the team designed and launched this MVP website on time and under budget.
