Trustly is a global Open Banking payments provider with HQ in Stockholm. Working remotely full-time with their in-house creative team, I helped create marketing content targeting the Gaming, Travel, Financial Services, and Ecom industries.

Working remotely full-time with their in-house creative team, I helped create campaign copy and thought leadership content targeting the Gaming, Travel, Financial Services, and Ecom industries.
I worked extensively with Trustly’s sales and marketing leaders to educate customers on both the Trustly product and complex payment-related subject matter. Topics included the technology that supports Open Banking and cross-border payment, as well as EU and US regulatory issues related to know your customer (KYC) and strong customer authentication (SCA).
This campaign targeting payment services providers (PSPs) was developed with Trustly’s in-house design team. In social posts, banner ads, and Youtube pre-roll, we focused on common pains faced by merchants — and presented Trustly as the trusted advisor with all the answers.
Working with Trustly’s e-com marketing manager, the product and presales teams, the DACH sales team, and the in-house designer, I helped create this campaign supporting the launch of Trustly’s invoice offering in Germany.
In addition to translating technical terminology related to banking and invoices (via an agency), we had to make sure the campaign’s value propositions and messaging were relevant for the German market. We also needed explain the user experience which was unique in this new market.
Campaign collateral included a report based on consumer surveys, social media posts, a landing page, email, and a sales deck
Explaining how a product works isn’t always as straightforward as it may seem. That’s especially true when the UX flow is a work in progress, regulation dictates what can be said, and internal stakeholders have differing opinions on the creative approach. Working with the in-house motion designer, we balanced all of those factors to create this (relatively) quick and clear explainer.
In 2021, hosts were leaving established rental platforms like Airbnb and VRBO in droves in favor of new players, or simply going independent. Trustly’s sales team identified a value prop to help the platforms reduce churn: By using Trustly as a payment method, hosts get paid faster.
In addition to increasing awareness with the target audience, sales had specific opportunities they wanted to act on quickly. So, working with the marketing and sales team, along with an in-house art director, we launched this campaign in just two weeks.
These posts were designed to increase awareness of Trustly’s new Scan n’ Pay product and to clarify the USPs for gaming operators.
